Role: Costing Engineer

Location: Fond du Lac, WI Onsite

Experience: 7 10 Years

Pay: $25/hr - $30/hr W2

Travel: Up to 10%

Job Summary:

Seeking a Costing Engineer to support new product development and cost reduction initiatives. The role will develop should-cost models, DFM/DFA analysis, VA/VE opportunities, and cost targets for mechanical and electrical components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop cost targets for castings, stampings, extrusions, injection-molded parts, harnesses, PCBs, motors, and batteries .
• Perform should-cost analysis, benchmarking, and teardown analysis for supplier negotiations.
• Apply DFM/DFA, VA/VE, and Design-to-Target methodologies.
• Review CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing processes.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities for new and existing products.
• Provide monthly cost tracking, project updates, risks, and opportunities to management.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, and other teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering .
• 7 10 years of relevant industry experience .
• Experience with BDI, A-priori, or similar costing software .
• Strong understanding of manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and 3D CAD ; Creo preferred.
• Hands-on experience with VA/VE and should-cost analysis .
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred:

• Manufacturing experience with casting, stamping, injection molding, extrusion, and PCBA .
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
• Background in automotive, powersports, marine, engine/powertrain, Tier-1 suppliers, or industrial manufacturing .
