About the Role:

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and overseeing behavior analytic services tailored to individuals with IDD. This position focuses on improving clients' quality of life by developing evidence-based interventions that address behavioral challenges and promote skill acquisition. The BCBA collaborates closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and individualized care plans. Through ongoing assessment and data analysis, the BCBA monitors progress and adjusts interventions to maximize effectiveness. Ultimately, this role aims to empower individuals with IDD to achieve greater independence and social integration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
  • Familiarity with DDS expectations and requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required state licensure or certification for providing behavior analytic services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in community-based or residential settings serving individuals with IDD.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and augmentative communication devices.
  • Training or certification in trauma-informed care or related therapeutic approaches.
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in healthcare or educational environments.
  • Additional certifications such as Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) or Licensed Professional Behavior Analyst (LPBA) depending on state requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments including functional behavior assessments (FBA) to identify client needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Design, implement, and supervise behavior intervention plans that promote positive behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to caregivers, families, and direct support staff to ensure consistent and effective implementation of behavior plans.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to monitor client progress and make data-driven decisions for treatment modifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and medical professionals to coordinate holistic care.
  • Maintain compliance with ethical guidelines, state and federal regulations, and organizational policies related to behavior analytic services.
  • Document all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and communications accurately and timely in client records.

The BCBA utilizes strong analytical skills daily to assess behavioral data and develop effective intervention strategies tailored to each client’s unique needs. Excellent communication skills are essential for training caregivers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent implementation of behavior plans. Problem-solving abilities enable the BCBA to adapt interventions based on client progress and emerging challenges. Organizational skills are critical for maintaining detailed documentation and managing multiple cases simultaneously. Additionally, empathy and cultural competence are applied to build trusting relationships with clients and families, fostering a supportive environment conducive to positive behavioral change.

Hours:

Contractual or Part-Time (minimum 5 to 20 hours per week)

Pay Range:

$55.00 - $65.00 USD
